SPORTS COURTS

A sports court is judged the moment it's used — a surface that pools water after rain, a line marking that's a few centimetres off the sporting code, or a base that cracks within a year of high-use traffic. We engineer surface and drainage together from the outset specifically to avoid the pooling and premature wear that shows up when those two things are designed separately, and line marking is set out to the relevant sporting body's actual specifications rather than eyeballed. Most of our court and pavement experience has been delivered on active school and institutional sites, so we're used to staging works around school terms and club fixture schedules rather than requiring a facility to shut down for the length of the build. Durability matters more on a sports court than almost any other pavement type, because the load and use pattern is relentless from the day it opens. We also talk clients through the practical trade-offs that affect long-term cost — synthetic versus acrylic surfacing, colour and branding for club identity, and whether a full rebuild or a resurface over an existing compliant base is the smarter option. For school and community facilities especially, getting that decision right up front avoids paying for more court than the budget or usage actually needs.

What we do differently

Surface and drainage are engineered together from the start, not treated as separate trades, to prevent pooling and premature cracking. Line marking is set out to the relevant sporting code's actual specifications, and works are staged around school terms and club fixtures to minimise disruption to use.
