EDUCATION

Working inside an operating school is nothing like working on a vacant site. Every visit, delivery and noisy task has to be planned around lesson times, drop-off and pick-up, and the safety of children who are on site whether we're there or not. Our team has delivered infrastructure works at schools including Kanwal Public School and Tumbi Umbi Secondary College, and we bring that same discipline to every campus we work on: staging around school terms and holiday periods, keeping site boundaries secure, and briefing every worker on child-safe conduct before they set foot on the grounds. We also understand the technical side that sits underneath a compliant school project — EFSG requirements for ramp geometry, TGSIs, emergency lighting and PA systems, and handrail specifications that a general contractor without education-sector experience will often miss on the first pass. Principals and facilities managers don't want to chase a builder for updates during term time, so we run a single line of communication and keep it short and useful. From accessibility upgrades to broader infrastructure works, our focus is the same: deliver a compliant, well-built outcome without disrupting the school day.

What we do differently

Every person on site holds a current Working with Children Check, no exceptions. We plan disruptive works around timetables and holidays, brief principals and facilities managers directly, and treat EFSG compliance — ramps, TGSIs, emergency lighting, PA systems, handrails — as designed-in from day one, not fixed at handover.

Why trust AFA

We've delivered school infrastructure works at Kanwal Public School and Tumbi Umbi Secondary College, and understand SINSW and DoE requirements first-hand, not from a manual. AFA is ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001 certified, NSW government prequalified, and family-run since 1994 — the same director overseeing your project from briefing to handover.
